Coralife Timer Review
Posted On 03/18/2009 10:57:20

Coralife TimerI really don't know what the problem with this timer is.  Do they use cheap parts to make them? I have gone through my 3rd one in a year! Shame on me for going back to it right? Well, call it noobness or whatever but I felt like the price and the ease of having an all in one solution would best suit me due to the confinement of space under my tank.  Upon further research I have found links to sites where folks are blogging about how this caused a fire in their home and also how many other people them go bad a few months or even after a few days of use!

My personal opinion is that you should run to your nearest hardware store and pick up two timers and two surge protectors  that will better suit your setup and save you money in the long run.

This item gets three thumbs down from me.

The third thumb is one of my toes...

First of and foremost, I would like to welcome everyone to this soon to be great website that I have put together for those like me who are madly in love with this hobby.  We are here because we love keeping a little bit of wonder whether it be a piece of the ocean or an exotic lake deep in the amazon in our livingroom or another focal part of our home.

I know that you all will come to love this website and use it to communicate with other likeminded individuals for all sorts of purposes.  Whether you are new to the aquarium scene and are looking for pointers on how to go about doing things the right way or on a limited budget to those that are looking to expand their business from local to global with our auction services.

You will come to find yourselves with many kind and well versed folk here who know what they're talking about and take pride in what they share, sell or trade.  We just ask that you act accordingly and treat others as you would expect to be treated.  We have set up simple guidelines for all to pretty much abide by so we can all be happy campers.

If you are looking to lend an extra hand and would like to become a moderator or have expertise in a specific category of the site please do not hesitate to contact us and let us know.  We would be more than happy to speak with you on how we could work together.

Once again, welcome to Aquariaspot.com and hope to see you around! Do not hesitate to say hello!

Thank you,

Sandy

My love for the hobby.
Posted On 03/03/2009 15:18:45

I've learned a lot during my time as an aquarist.  I've gone from an in tank cotton/carbon filter to using canisters and pressurized Co2 in my aquarium and I am still learning new stuff every day.  If it weren't for all the creativity and people out there that take that extra second or minute our of their time to explain their current project and add detail to it I could assure you that I wouldn't be halfway where I am now.

I tip my hat to all of you out there who push the envelope with new techniques, DIY projects and just plain old knowledge and expertise.

This goes out to Takashi Amano, Rex Rigg, Hoppy, RAC25 and all those others that are still to this very day helping me figure stuff out!

Thank you,

Sandy
